Why Life Sucks You May Ask? Here Is the 5 Best Reasons

Why Life Sucks You May Ask? Here Is the 5 Best Reasons

In the age of social media, you scroll through people’s posts and the majority of them are filled with quotes about living your life to the fullest, enjoying every moment; it’s your choice, and we should be grateful for what we have in our lives. But do we believe that? In moments of crisis and sorrow, do we remember all these quotes and thoughts? I have my doubts.

Why life sucks is a serious question! Sadness, loneliness, and miseries are part and parcel of our lives. Often when you are struggling in life, these feelings can make you realize that Life is Bad.

Even though we all know that inherently our lives suck, we choose to look the other way, like an ostrich putting its head in the sand and refusing to accept the impending disaster. We put a lot of effort into ignoring facts that prove that life sucks and act as happy and content in our present situation. I have tried to love life, even pretended I did, but somehow I can’t. Below are seven reasons why I think life sucks.

Time is limited

Life is relative. Someone once asked Albert Einstein to explain the theory of relativity in layman’s terms. He said, “You put your hand on a hot pan, and a second seems like years. You put your hand on a hot woman, and years seem like seconds.” Haven’t you felt 30 minutes stuck in traffic feel like an eternity while a weekend seems to fly away in a matter of minutes? It makes me wonder, is life short? If yes, then compared to whom?

We want to do so many things, and life is too short and too unpredictable to accomplish all of those dreams. As a child, we grow up with different dreams; some dreams stay with us while others evolve or are left behind. I am pretty sure every one of us has dreamt of being an astronaut at some time in our childhood. Our little minds envision and dream and plan, but we are unaware of how short life can be? Life happens along the way, and we are diverted from our dreams which then make way for our day-to-day needs and struggles.

The influencers tell us, “Go follow your dreams,” but I want to ask how I choose which one to keep and which one to let go of? Life is too short, too unpredictable, too harsh to be following your dreams, and that is why life sucks.

Injustice

life sucks because of wars

One of the silliest ideas floating around is that good will happen to you if you do good, and no evil ever goes unpunished. Look around you, and the world is filled with people doing horrible things, inciting war, leading genocide, yet walk away with repercussions.

On the other hand, a good Samaritan stops to help someone in need and ends up losing their life. The more you think about it, the more infuriating it gets. Good people are locked up for doing the right thing, and people doing evil things to fellow humans, animals nature thriving.

Justice is a term invented by people to keep you in line with how they want things to be. Justice is not a universal law. Life is not fair, and thus the concept of justice is such a utopian concept. Around us, we see the absence of justice more than we see justice delivered.

Life is the master, Life is Chaos

Imagine you are in a game, you perform all the tasks assigned to you, fulfill all your duties, do everything that is expected of you, and everyone tells you that you will succeed and reach your destination, and suddenly you are dead. All your progress, all your hard work, amounts to nothing. Welcome to the game of life. We spend our lives trying to set everything in order. Plan for our future, family, kids, and then everything is gone one day, and your well-laid plans are up in flames.

We all seek Order and continuity, yet all we get is chaos and disturbance. We seek peace, but we receive restlessness. We seek to try and find a reason for the chaos around us, but no answer is ever found. Because life does not care what you think, it gives no reason. It just is, and that is why life sucks.

You think you are in control; you are the master of your destiny, but you are not. You live in this illusion all your life. You do not make your life; life makes you or breaks you. Life has, does, and will always continue, irrespective of whether you are there or not. It does not care. You think you have reached the peak of performance, yet life will throw someone better, stronger than you, and you are no longer the best.

You go as far in life as much as life allows. No one has gone beyond the limits set by life, and honestly, no one ever will. Life is the Master, and you do not stand a chance against it.

Suffering

You can’t have it all

Every day in this world, we hear about prioritizing things in life. You need to make a choice, choose one over the other. Let us look at the list we need to choose from: Love, Friendship, Career, Happiness, Wealth, Peace, Family, and much more. How do you make a choice? How do you choose between a successful career and a Family? How do you choose between Wealth and Friendship? We can only have one priority at a time, and when you choose to prioritize something over the other, the other drifts away from you.

It not only drifts away, but it also leaves behind guilt and remorse. On top of it, imagine making a choice and then failing at it; the burden is too heavy for anyone to bear.

To make things worse, you cannot not choose; you need to make a choice that makes life a heavyweight to carry on your shoulders.

Would you like a second chance?

The game changes every time. You mess up once, you come back and try again, but the game changes. You hear about learning from your mistakes, but the rules have changed when you retry, and your learnings count for nothing.

Almost all of us wish we could go back in time and fix our mistakes or redo what we did slightly differently, but there are no Re-Runs.

Why life sucks?

It doesn’t only end here, as there are a lot of other examples that can support the idea of why life sucks.

Failure, bad disputes, pain, sorrow, unfairness, loneliness, death… an endless loop of and more of examples can be made out of this.

But, this is part of life and you got to accept it, that’s the short helpful answer. ACCEPT IT!
